Whether you have no prior coaching experience or you are seeking to upgrade your existing skills, the ATI provides a comprehensive accreditation pathway tailored to support and elevate your personal and professional goals. Each course offers an extensive curriculum and certification to equip you with the industry’s most-up-to-date practical skills and knowledge.

The ATI Graduate Certificate in Tennis Coaching is the first step of the accreditation pathway towards becoming a professional tennis coach.

This course offers the flexibility of online learning through our interactive e-learning platform, or you can choose to participate through a face-to-face course (enquire within).

  • By the end of this course, you’ll learn:

    • How to deliver group coaching sessions using appropriate tennis drills, games & activities to adults, juniors & children of a Beginner to Intermediate playing ability.

    • Essential blueprint teaching of the serve, volley and groundstroke mechanics, including the forehand and double-handed backhand.

    • How to detect stroke errors and apply correction principles and feedback of common strokes.

    • How to identify, recognise and teach the various tennis grips.

    • Best practices and effective ball-feeding techniques for coaches and student-led activities for maximum group participation.

    • How to maximise individual participation, engagement and satisfaction in a group setting.

    • Effective management of different pupil playing abilities within a group setting.

    • Wet weather coaching and activities.

    • On and off the court communication essentials.

    • The role, planning and making of a good sports coach.

  • The Graduate Tennis Pro Course is open to tennis players looking to upskill their knowledge and/or gain a certification in tennis coaching. Entry into our Graduate course does not require any prior coaching experience.

    Once you have completed the course, we encourage you to seek out 5-10 hours of coaching experience at your local club to maximise your learning experience.

  • Upon completion, course Graduates will receive a digital ATI National Graduate Certificate of Completion. Step on court and begin coaching right away.

The ATI Advanced Certificate in Tennis Coaching is the second step of your professional coach accreditation pathway.

Acquire in-depth knowledge of stroke mechanics, real-time error detection, correction analysis, and the coaching skills and expertise necessary to effectively manage adults, juniors and children up to an advanced playing ability.

  • By the end of this course, you will be able to confidently and professionally conduct:

    • The delivery of squad-based drills and sessions to adults and juniors up to an advanced playing ability.

    • A comprehensive teaching of the serve mechanics.

    • A comprehensive teaching of the topspin double-handed backhand groundstroke mechanics.

    • A comprehensive teaching of the topspin single-handed backhand groundstroke mechanics.

    • A comprehensive teaching of the topspin forehand groundstroke mechanics.

    • A comprehensive teaching of the forehand volley mechanics.

    • A comprehensive teaching of the backhand volley mechanics.

    • Real-time error detection & correction analysis.

  • Entry into this course requires applicants to have a minimum of an ATI Graduate Tennis Pro or Tennis Australia Junior Development Coach Qualification (or equivalent).

The ATI Master Certificate in Tennis Coaching is a qualification course for club professionals and tennis business owners.

Enhance your understanding of tennis business operations and strengthen your on-court coaching expertise. Solidify your proficiency in tennis business and centre management while advancing your on-court coaching credentials, ensuring ongoing success in your career as a tennis professional.

  • The Master Tennis Pro Qualification Course aims to develop course participants to a proficient standard where they are able to confidently and professionally conduct:

    • The delivery of private session based tennis drills to adults, juniors & kids up to National competition playing ability.

    • A comprehensive teaching of the slice forehand & backhand groundstroke mechanics.

    • A comprehensive teaching of the overhead & backhand smash mechanics.

    • A comprehensive teaching of the forehand & backhand drive volley mechanics.

    • Mastery error detection & correction analysis.

    • A comprehensive teaching of the offensive and defensive footwork techniques.

    • Development, promotion and supervision of a:

      • Commercial tennis business/school.

      • Tennis Centre including modern retail practice.

      • Variety of software and application technology.

      • Approach & fostering of relationships with Local Elementary/Secondary Schools.

  • Entry into the ATI Master Tennis Pro Qualification Course requires applicants to have a minimum of an ATI Advanced Tennis Pro or Tennis Australia Club Professional Coach Qualification (or equivalent).
